Autumn has put in an appearance: just beginning.

 These trees are in our village shopping centre.

The leaves are a lovely shade of pink,

 and orange.

I have started on a new box.  This is a craftwood box that I picked up from the opportunity shop a while ago.

Yellow paint has been used for the first layer; stamping and glitter are randomly added.

This box is quite a lot bigger than others I have decorated and I am finding that a bit of a challenge.

I am looking forward to more of the trees changing and the crunch of the drying leaves on the ground.

It seem odd that others are looking forward to spring flowers at this time of year.

Autumn is well under way now and there are more leaves on the ground than on the trees.

I am always fascinated by the changing colours of the different kind of leaves.  


The darkness closes in early in the evenings which means that there is more time for stitching and other creative activities.  

I have been making some fairy slippers and some tassels tonight.   I do enjoy these small items - easy to do and finished off quickly.  Very satisfying.  There will be pics in my next post. 

Autumn in Melbourne

Autumn is well and truly here now with cold mornings and some sunny days.  It truly is a gorgeous time in Melbourne where we have definite seasons and plenty of deciduous trees in addition to our "evergreen" eucalypts and other native flora.

I took a bit of a drive around our area and took some photos: first to the nearby beach and then in my immediate  neighbourhood.
