Halloween and the Wallabies Versus the All Blacks.

Today we have had rain and thunder and lightening. We have also had lovely sunshine.  

Our Spring racing (horse) carnival has commenced as has our Spring Art Show.

This morning I was lucky to sell a few items at the art show.  We have another three days to go so I am hoping for more sales.

I will add these hand dyed doilies to the stand tomorrow. 

This afternoon we were visited by lots of children celebrating Halloween.  Lots of dressing up and laughter.  It is the first Halloween since we moved into this neighbourhood and it was great to see so many youngsters and their parents walking around the area.  We dispensed a huge amount of treats and everyone of the children thanked us. 

As if that wasn't enough excitement we have the Rugby World Cup final starting at about 3 am.  Our Wallabies against New Zealand's All Blacks.  Hoping for a win for Australia.

 Autumn has put in an appearance: just beginning.

 These trees are in our village shopping centre.

The leaves are a lovely shade of pink,

 and orange.

I have started on a new box.  This is a craftwood box that I picked up from the opportunity shop a while ago.

Yellow paint has been used for the first layer; stamping and glitter are randomly added.

This box is quite a lot bigger than others I have decorated and I am finding that a bit of a challenge.

I am looking forward to more of the trees changing and the crunch of the drying leaves on the ground.

It seem odd that others are looking forward to spring flowers at this time of year.

We are enjoying some beautiful spring weather so a visit to the beach for fish'n'chips seemed like a good way to spend Sunday.  

The little box is progressing well too but I am easily distracted when the sun is out. 

DAYLIGHT SAVING

 Tonight we set our clocks forward in this part of Australia.  This is good for those who like to stay up late in the evening but for those of us who are early risers it does take some adjusting to the dark mornings.

The weather is quite springy at present although the overnight temperatures are quite low the days are still and sunny.

 The gardens are so beautifully colourful and the birds are filling the air with their songs.  The perfume of the grdens is really gorgeous in the early evenings.

Progress report

I have managed a little stitching time in the past two days and have added some stitches to my pleated silk piece.  It is beginning to look a lot like spring.
