I have finished my little purse.  The fabric consists of scraps of fabric & thread felted together on the embellishing machine.
Tulle was then bonded with mistyfuse and it was then lined with cotton fabric.

I added some stitches and joined it together with blanket stitch and some other stitching.

It has turned out quite well: very shabby chic.

Just the right size for my phone.

A LITTLE BIT OF STITCHING

I have made these little book covers as last minute gifts.

They are quick & easy to make and use small scraps of fabric.

This is a phone pouch with two sections: one for the phone the other for glasses or note book.

This is the back of the phone pouch: the fabric is designed by an aboriginal artist.  I have several pieces of this type of fabric and it is great for this type of project.

The back of one of the notebooks.

This is a larger version and covers a sketch book.  I dyed the fabric and the doiley myself:  I quite like the earthy colours.

Sunday Evening

The school holidays have started and we have our four grandchildren sleeping over tonight and again tomorrow night. They are at a really good age although the 7 year old finds himself excluded from some games.

Tonight they cooked spaghetti bolognese and served it with a garden salad and grated cheese.  Very tasty indeed.

This week has been quite productive - I have managed to dye fabric &make some bookmarks, using my embellishing machine.

I made this little pouch out of some of the fabrics I dyed some weeks ago.  The grandchildren say it is "cool" so I guess it is ok.   The button just seems to finish it off nicely.

Spring is well under way now and their are new shoots appearing everywhere.  We have had more rain this past winter than we have had in more than a decade so the garden is looking gorgeous.

Of course the weeds are growing fast and there is lots of pruning to do but it is worth it when everything is growing so well.

A quick post

Today I made a little phone pouch out of  a piece of felting I made recently.

It is only small but looks quite bright and cheerful.
