I am sure my threads go out while I am sleeping and then hop back into the boxes all out of order.
Tonight I am sorting them and wondering how many greens one needs. Really, I still have trouble picking just the right one for a particular leaf, or blade of grass.
The pic at the top of the collage is created in photoshop from the image directly below it.

Ha ha! "Go out and hop back into the boxes out of order" - how cute! I think my stash in all its forms have babies in the cupboard -I try to cull it but the piles just don't seem to reduce accordingly!
Love all these colors, a collage of thread....xox
I take my hat off to you Dian, my thread are just in colour coded plastic bags!
Good luck with the sorting!
what a collection Dianne, I see you have them sorted into colours not number order, think I must follow your example. When it comes to needing a certain shade how often do we have to go and buy another to add to our stash. I rarely use stranded cotton, love the flower threads but my stock is getting smaller , DMC should not have stopped making them, also use a lot of perle and Oliver Twist dyed threads, will never have enough!
so many gorgeous coloured threads
One NEVER has too many greens!!!! or purples........... or .. LOL.... I just wish I could keep mine sorted properly too. They must have the same DNA as your threads. Love the photoshoped image. It drew my attention instantly of course. Thank you so much for our talk, it helps. Cheers.
How many greens do you need? It is like buttons; doesn't matter how many you have, you will still not have just the right one!
My threads are sorted into colour too; is the easiest way to have them I think.
