SWAGGY SANTA

Well at last I can relax: Santa is done!  There are one or two details I am not content with but they can wait until after Christmas.

I am generally thrilled with the way this has turned out.  As this is my own interpretation of Santa I would be happy to help anyone else who is interested in making something similar (next Christmas).

In the meantime I need to finish off other projects and even do some housework.

The weather is playing havoc all over the world with snow in the Northern hemisphere and rain & floods in many parts of Australia so I am hoping everyone is safe as we approach the holiday season.

Dianne, he is just superb! How very Australian. He is a work of art and I think you have done a great job. The embroidery on the bodice is so lovely. The koala is a good touch too!!

Dian, what a truly unique and beautiful addition to your Christmas decorations. I think he's the most marvellous Santa I've ever seen!!! I would never have thought to make Santa in this way, and welcome the change from tradition. Everything about him looks so wonderful and unique, yes I keep using that word. Congratulations on this one, I know it's taken some time, but it most certainly is worth your time and effort. Something to be most proud of. Well done.

Thanks for the wonderful comments and for the encouragement along the way.

Yes Judy I am pleased to be home: I am a real homebody and was lost without my sewiing machines and bits and bobs.

It was good to catch up with Lauel, and also our friends in Noosaville along with my father in law but there is no place like my place.

oh what a perfect time you seem to have had. the foliage, flowers and nature are all so relaxing and intriging at the same time. no two things are ever exactly the same. I guess that the ling with nature and needlecraft. Every hand made item is individual. no two exactly the same. as to your Santa. Congratulations. The Christmas season this year has not a lt for me. I am usually very "into" the festivities, "doing " all the decorations etc, however this yeat is different for some reason, therefore I love your Santa as he is not the "norm".

Your Aussie Santa is a triumph Dianne. Mo in the background did remind me of the shepherds in the stable.

Thanks for visiting my blog Dian. So glad you did or I'd have not seen your fantastic Santa. He is wonderful and so refreshing after all the fat red ones! I like your version so much better. Have a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thanks so much for your comments. I think it's great fun to recycle. Love your Santa and your comments about housework - who needs housework when we can play! xox Corrine

Sorry I'm so late getting to this, I'm just doing some catching up. You are right about it being a very different take from my Santa even though many of the colors of the outfit are the same, and of course yours has the famous Aussie bush hat also in Camo. I guess he doesn't have to dress nearly as warm down there. Nice job on this.
