cloudy days and creativity

After several cold and very rainy days it was lovely to be able to go out and walk on Frankston Beach this afternoon.

Before long the clouds rolled in again though.

The area has a lot of these coastal banksias in bloom at present.

The brushes are so big and soft looking.

After the wild weather of the past few days the water was quite flat.

As you can see there was no one else in sight.  The whole beach to ourselves.

I have been working on one of my book covers during the past few days.  A couple of leaves, some metallic paint and some heat set crystals have just about completed this.  The crystals are hard to photograph but they look quite pretty.

My goodness, the sky looks gloomy. The view must be lovely on a good day, love that pier. I don't think I've ever seen a banksia on a tree flowering, only ones from the florist. Love the textured treatment you've given the book. I am sure the leaves look great, I know how difficult metallics can be with digital cameras. Stay warm. I'm off to play with ink and paint again. Cheers.

Looks a stormy sky leaving. I like the ocean when the weather is wild though, so much power to it. Lovely crystals on your cover. xox
