shaky

Tonight we were shaken by an earth quake.  This is a most uncommon occurrence here.  It was not too destructive as far as I know and was centred away from where I live.  According to the reports is was about 5km beneath the surface and it was felt for hundreds of  miles around.  We do experience a little tremor every few years but this was much more substantial.

I hope everyone is safe and there is not too much damage.  It is always very quiet here in the evenings but tonight it seems rather eerie. No dogs barking, no possums running across the roof: just silence.

LOL Dianne, I just posted something on my blog about our earthquake too. I felt the couch shake, but Ken didn't feel it. One of our cats was still outside, and after the tremor, she rattled the front door like a mad thing, and shot inside as soon as I opened it. Yes, we've usually got possums too, but none tonight. Makes you wonder what they know that we don't....

must have been scary this earthquake, I gather animals usually sense these things prior to their happening. Do not know what part of Aus you are in, there has been nothing on our news about it, thoughts are with you all and pray there is no aftershock.
P S did you get sorted for the embellishing needles?

Glad you are ok. I was asleep but it woke Lance only because the dog was running up and down the bed between us. He didn't realise what it was till Sarah mentioned it tonight. Grace and Sarah felt it and said it was like when the house was on the old stumps and a couple of huge trucks went past lol. I was dead to the world by 8.15 last night and missed the whole thing.

Pleased all is okay Dian, but many people would have felt a little scared. Maybe all the animals were taking cover...........
